06/06/08 Grant's Second Birthday Party and Chris' Graduation Party

Friday evening after the picnic at VCOM, we had a small birthday party for Grant and graduation party for Chris. It was mostly just our families, however, some dear friends, Troy, Nancy and Mollie Akers came, as well. It meant so much that even in the midst of a busy graduation weekend full of family activities, etc, that they would take time out to come celebrate with us. They were so very thoughtful. Great Grandpa and Grandma Beutler gave Grant a squirt gun. My dad couldn't wait to open it, so he pulled it out right away. It was an immediate hit! Grant had a blast, and I must admit, I did too! He loved to be squirted, and instead of running away from the water, he'd run right into it! He discovered that he could get a drink out of the squirting water, too, so he'd stand there with his tongue hanging out of his mouth, and have you aim at his face so that he could get a drink. He was so funny! He got lots of other fun things, too - some nice new clothes, an Elmo movie, puppet and book, some yucky bugs that race down your window, bubbles and balls. He had fun. Chris received some very nice gifts for graduation, as well. We were so grateful and humbled at everyone's support and generosity.
