9.10.08 Children's Museum and Park

We went to Indy today to meet up with Kendra and the kids at the Children's Museum. We had a great time playing at the museum, although the kids were terrified of the dinosaur exhibit, Grant was afraid of the train exhibit AND there was a blown glass exhibit with a hands-on play area with a shiny black floor that reflected all the color from the blown glass. Grant decided he was scared of this, too. He walked all around the floor, occasionally putting one foot on it to test it, like one might test a swimming pool before jumping in. He screamed and screamed, and any time he had to cross it, he would run on his tip toes, screaming the whole time. After that, we went to the play area at the museum and all the kids had a great time playing with the water, sand, toys, slides and hearing a story. We went back to their house for lunch, let the kids nap, and then we rode bikes until Jason got home. He took us out to the best pizza place ever. Boy, do I wish it were a chain. It was SO good! Then we went to a little park to let the kids play. There was a splash park, and of course Grant couldn't stay out of that, so I didn't even fight it. Off went his shoes and pants and he had a ball. Pretty soon, Jaybin and Kinsen joined in the fun and all three of them were soaked to the bone. Jaybin even pointed a water gun right at Kendra and soaked Mason! What fun!
